Blessed Weekend of Ministry in Germany

I had the wonderful privilege of traveling to Germany this past weekend for a time of ministry and sharing God’s Word at a church conference in the beautiful town of Singen. It was made even more special by the fact that my wonderful wife, Nisreen, was able to join me for this special time. These opportunities that God facilitates to share His Word and the truth of Israel around the world are very strategic and very precious. It’s an opportunity to share about the work that God is doing in Israel as he builds bridges of peace and reconciliation between Jews and Arabs in Israel, as well as an opportunity to share about Jesus from the Old testament, as the instrument and fulfillment of God’s plan of salvation for mankind.

We were so warmly received by the Pastor and the church members in Singen, and we immediately felt that we were among family, even though we spoke different languages and came from very different backgrounds. The Holy Spirit was moving, and the presence of the Lord was tangible as I started to share a message that has always been close to my heart. My message was entitled “Jesus in the Old Testament.” This is always a very exciting topic to share, as we delve into all the prophecies and events that revealed and pointed to Jesus, as “the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world” as read in Revelation 13:8

People were so pleased to learn and see that Jesus was present in the Old Testament, and how often the Old testament spoke about Him. It was a big surprise to many, and it helped many to receive a fresh appreciation for the Old Testament and the anointing that it carries. Teaching the Word of God from an Israeli perspective was also very enlightening, since understanding Israeli culture forms a very important part of understanding the Word of God correctly in context. Many of Jesus’s analogies came from an Israeli perspective and cultural understanding.

Our time in Germany was also a wonderful time of building bridges between Germany and Israel, and facilitating understanding and empathy with Israel’s plight. These kind of ministry trips encourages people to also visit Israel and to see Israel’s living stones – the body of Christ – for themselves. Amen!
